There is no useful universal screen-printing minimum

Screen printing requires production setup, so the practical minimum depends on the specific job. Garment type, artwork, number of colors, print locations, quantity, deadline and other production requirements can all change the recommendation.

Why minimums exist

Each screen-printed design requires preparation before production begins. When a project includes multiple colors or print locations, setup increases. Minimums help determine when that setup makes sense relative to the order.

What affects the practical quantity

• Garment brand, style and fabric
• Number of artwork colors
• Front, back, sleeve or other placements
• Artwork complexity
• Total quantity and size mix
• Specialty inks or production requirements
• Required in-hands date

What if the order is small?

A digital decoration method such as DTF or DTG may sometimes be more practical for a small or highly detailed job, but that depends on the garment, artwork and desired result. The method should be selected after reviewing the actual project.

How to compare pricing correctly

Do not compare only a headline per-piece number. Confirm the exact garment, included decoration, placements, artwork preparation, packaging, shipping and any other project-specific services. A lower unit price on a different garment or scope is not an apples-to-apples comparison.

Plan for reorders

If the same design will be reordered, keep the approved garment, artwork and production specifications organized. Future pricing and availability should still be reconfirmed because garments and production conditions can change.
